Launching WSHA's New Hospital Quality Website from Washington State Hospital Associ on Vimeo.
The Conversation Project began in 2010, when Ellen Goodman and a group of colleagues and concerned media, clergy, and medical professionals gathered to share stories of “good deaths” and “bad deaths” within their own circle of loved ones. Over several months, a vision emerged for a grassroots public campaign spanning both traditional and new media that would change our culture. The goal: to make it easier to initiate conversations about dying, and to encourage people to talk now and as often as necessary so that their wishes are known when the time comes. WSHA and WSMA are working with them to develop a program specific to the Pacific Northwest; they are a tremendous resource.
An initiative of the ABIM Foundation, Choosing Wisely is working to spark conversations between providers and patients to ensure the right care is delivered at the right time. The Washington State Medical Association is advancing the Choosing Wisely® campaign through its “Know Your Choices – Ask Your Doctor” campaign.
www.wahospitalpricing.org allows health care consumers to receive basic, facility-specific information about services and charges provided in Washington hospitals.
The information on this site is based on the average hospital charge for those services. To determine what you will actually need to pay, patients should contact their insurance company for an estimate of actual costs.
