What is this?

Percentage of patients who received appropriate care for septic shock. Septic shock is sepsis that has become progressively worse resulting in significant decreases in blood pressure and potential organ failure.

Why this matters?

Patients who receive appropriate care for sepsis have decreases in organ failure, overall reductions in death in the hospital, length of stay, and costs of care.
